Monounsaturated Fat

Monounsaturated fatty acids or MUFA is a healthy fat found mainly in plants based foods and others. These are made up of fatty acid chains that have only one hydrogen double bond as compared to Polyunsaturated Fat which contain more than one hydrogen double bond. They are relatively less beneficial than Polyunsaturated Fat when it comes to cardiovascular health but effective in decreasing type 2 diabetes, increasing resting energy expenditure ( good for weight loss ) and blood sugar levels.  Example : Olive Oil
